IAFF Hazardous Materials Technician
Updated On: Oct 10, 2017

During the first two weeks of October, six Branford Firefighters attended the IAFF’s Hazardous Materials Technician 472 class hosted by the Guilford Fire Department. This 2 week class consists of half classroom and half hands on training in which they learn how to mitigate hazardous material emergency calls. These calls could include leaking tractor trailer tanks, leaking or off gassing rail cars, weapons of mass destruction calls, and far more. This certification has yearly requirements and continuing education which all hazardous material technicians must keep up to date with. This is one more group helping the progress within the Branford Fire Department.
